“Tailored” Customer Service for the Embroidered Apparel Distributor’s Requirements
Why “tailor” customer service to our embroidered apparel distributor clients?
Delivering best-in-class, top quality embroidery quickly and on time is the essence of our brand here at Say it in Stitches. But it is not enough if we are to successfully serve and support our clientele of embroidered apparel distributors. One of the other important ways in which we set ourselves apart from the rest of the pack is through what we call “tailored customer service”.
While it is tempting to view contract embroidery as a commoditized service with no differences from vendor to vendor, nothing could be further from the truth. Every order is different and unique, whether by virtue of the embroidered design itself, the production requirements, or the manner in which the order is packaged and delivered to the final customer.
At the design and digitizing stage, distributors and final customers may require variations of the design based on different garments types (e.g, men’s or ladies’ styles), materials (e.g., fleece, terry, velour, pique knit, elastic performance materials), or shapes (e.g., hats and visors versus flat surfaces). Even when clients are not aware of it, we may create many different versions of the design file in order to accommodate specific production conditions and achieve the best possible results. Many embroiderers may not even understand, much less attempt, to achieve this kind of customization in digitizing, but for us it is an inextricable part of our quality ethic–whether the client requests it or not. Have you ever received a hat with embroidery that exhibits poor outline registration? Or a shirt made of expensive but elastic performance material where the embroidery “puckered” (or something else that otherwise destroyed the overall “look” of the product)? These may be examples of how “tailoring” or adapting our services can help to avoid this kind of embroidery “disaster”. We make these adjustments by request or as needed “on the fly” because it’s just the right thing to do. We don’t blame the shirt material or expect our clients to be embroidery experts.
At the production stage we also “pivot” as required in order to accommodate special needs. If you have slightly different designs for different client locations or wish to use different thread color sequences for different shirts, we can accommodate you. Embroidering on fleece or terry material? We will use solvy and other specialized materials to get the most out of the digitized file and to directly address end-user requirements. Shirts with sheer white material? We will automatically use polymesh or “no show” backing so that your clients cannot see the backing (the so-called “patch”) through the shirt. Tiny letters? We will use thin diameter needles and thread to achieve the best result from the embroidery file.
And how about the packaging and shipment? Need polybagging with individual name labels or hangtags? Need to sort and split-ship the order to multiple locations? Need custom packaging and branded inserts into each box. Need help in creating a fulfillment program whereby we ship small quantities to specific locations from an in-house inventory of finished goods? We can do it for you. It’s all part of “tailored customer service”.
The service they get, of course, makes an incredible difference. More often than not, wholesaler apparels need to pay special attention to the details of their orders. Their specifications are often detailed and intricate, and they need to have professionals taking care of these features for their orders to be as perfect as expected.
How does this personalized attention affect a wholesaler apparel client, and more specifically, our clients?
- They get a thorough examination of the details of their order.
- They get insights into the fabrication process.
- There’s a good chance of extra allowances (last-minute changes, and other special requirements).
- Orders are less prone to mistakes in the manufacture, as they often get several reviews.
- Turnaround time is faster, as requirement considerations are taken into account by representatives that can prioritize the production.
- All doubts and queries are answered by professionals in-company.
All of these flexible options, and many more, create rapport with our distributor customers. The broad spectrum of communications and adaptations for each of their requirements guarantees that the final result is perfect. This attention to detail and continuous assistance to customers makes their experience more personal.
Need professional and personalized customer service for your requests? If you’re an embroidered apparel distributor, this is one of the fundamental pillars of our business.
