Embroidery Machine Operators are the foundation of our business. They are the individuals primarily responsible for the proper operation of our embroidery equipment in a manner consistent with our high productivity and quality standards. The Operator is responsible for fully understanding the details associated with each job (e.g., correct logo selection, proper thread colors and logo placement), successful programming of the machine, and successfully running the job through completion while keeping accurate production records. In addition, this individual will communicate and work with the Production Coordinator or other designated Company personnel regarding:
a) ordering of supplies
b) machine functioning and maintenance issues
c) job scheduling and completion on a daily basis.
Programming Tajima embroidery machines for garments, uniforms, hats, jackets etc.
• Hooping and loading garments onto embroidery machine with the ability to set-up the accurate location and alignment of designs.
• Helping to maintain inventory of embroidery supplies and request threads, bobbins, and backing supplies as needed.
• Coordinating with Production Assistants to make sure that proper thread colors are installed on the machine prior to each new job.
• Communicating with Production Manager on maintenance and machine repair issues for the employee’s assigned machine.
• Performing daily and weekly scheduled machine maintenance, including cleaning and oiling the machine.
• Maintaining accurate record of production activity by completing a Production Report for each job.
• Ideally, high school degree or equivalent. Otherwise, demonstrated literacy sufficient to allow reading and successful interpretation of step sheets and work orders, as well as programming of machines.
• At least one full year of prior multi-head embroidery machine experience required, with preference for at least 3 years of experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good hand eye-coordination and good visual acuity to allow efficient threading of needles.
• Basic numeric matching and math abilities.
